HBA
The Home Builders’ Association of Greater Austin is the local association representing the NAHB, where all professionals come together to promote every family’s right to home ownership as well as the long term benefits of green building. Jim is a four-year member of the Board of Directors.
Austin Energy Green Building Program
The City of Austin’s energy provider, Austin Energy, has established a program devoted to Green Building. This program has evolved into one of the best Green Building programs of its type in the world. The National Association of Homebuilders voted it the best in the nation for 2002. Their program has served as a model for countless others throughout the country.
National Association of Home Builders
NAHB is a Washington, D.C.-based trade association whose mission is to enhance the climate for housing and the building industry. Chief among NAHB’s goals is providing and expanding opportunities for all consumers to have safe, decent and affordable housing. As “the voice of America’s housing industry,” NAHB helps promote policies that will keep housing a national priority.
International Code Council
(formerly the Southern Building Code Congress International) This is a nation-wide association of builders, engineers, trades, building officials and inspectors who write the building codes which form the standard for how to build.
